Pokemon Go November Events: Magmar Community Day, Pokemon Home Event, Legendary Raids, And More

A new month of events has begun in Pokemon Go; here are the biggest activities happening in November 2020.

We're midway through November, and it's turning out to be yet another busy month for Pokemon Go players. Developer Niantic is holding a bunch of events in the popular mobile game this month, ranging from new Pokemon Spotlight Hours to a new Limited Research event, returning Legendary Pokemon Raids, and more. You can catch up on all the biggest activities that are going on in Pokemon Go in November 2020 below.

November Research Breakthrough Encounter: Togetic

As usual, Niantic is offering a new batch of Field Research tasks and rewards to complete this month, and they coincide with a new Research Breakthrough encounter. Each time players achieve a Research Breakthrough in November 2020, they'll earn a chance to catch the Fairy Pokemon Togetic.

Legendary Raids

A few more Legendary Pokemon will also return to Raids throughout November 2020. Following Darkrai's departure on November 5, Niantic teases that "a familiar Pokemon" will reappear as a Raid boss, and subsequent weeks will bring back Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, and more. Pokemon Spotlight Hours

Every Tuesday evening in November, Niantic will spotlight one specific Pokemon and bonus for one hour. These spotlight events will all run from 6-7 PM local time. You can see the full schedule below:

GrubHub Special Weekend

Niantic and GrubHub are partnering to host an exclusive Special Weekend event for GrubHub+ members on November 2, from 11 AM to 2 PM local time. Throughout the event, players will be able to complete exclusive Timed Research tasks that reward various items, including three Incense, a Star Piece, and 100 Charizard Mega Energy. Incense will also remain active for an hour when used during the event and will lure out the following Pokemon:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charizard
  • Squirtle
  • Pikachu
  • Unown G
  • Unown H
  • Sableye
  • Patrat
  • Minccino
  • Ferroseed
  • Shiny Ferroseed

Verizon Special Weekend

In addition to its partnership with GrubHub, Niantic is teaming up with Verizon for another exclusive Special Weekend event. The Verizon Special Weekend takes place on November 7, and it likewise features exclusive Timed Research tasks that give out various rewards, including Charizard Mega Energy and encounters with certain Pokemon such as Chansey, Absol, Bronzor, and Gible. The following Pokemon will also appear when an Incense is used during the event:

  • Unown Z

From November 6-12, Niantic is holding an Animation Week event, featuring content that ties into the current Pokemon anime series, Pokemon Journeys. Throughout the event, Pokemon that have been featured prominently in the anime--such as Bulbasaur, Exeggcute, Cubone, and the debuting World Cap Pikachu--will appear in the wild more often than usual. There will also be Timed Research tasks inspired by episodes of the anime, as well as new avatar items based on Goh, Ash's new travel companion.

Pokemon Home Event

To celebrate the arrival of Pokemon Go integration in Pokemon Home, the mobile game is holding a Pokemon Home event from November 17-23. Throughout the celebration, certain Pokemon like Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Diglett, and Shiny Slowpoke will be appearing in the wild, and you'll have another chance to find Shiny Meltan when you open the Mystery Box during the event. On top of that, you'll receive Pidgeot Mega Energy and other rewards for completing event-exclusive Research tasks, and Pidgeot will receive a CP boost when it Mega Evolves during the event.

November Community Days

Niantic is holding not one, but two Community Days in November 2020. The first Community Day takes place on Sunday, November 15, and features the Electric-type Pokemon Electabuzz, while the second occurs on the following Saturday, November 21, and features Magmar. Both events will run from 11 AM to 5 PM local time, and they'll have the same bonuses. Any Incense that you use during November's Community Days will last for three hours, and eggs that are placed in Incubators will hatch at a quarter of their usual walking distance.

Limited Research

Niantic is holding another Limited Research event on November 28. No further details have been announced yet, but we'll update this roundup with more information as it's shared.
