A new, short gameplay trailer for Little Devil Inside gives a bit of a sense of the missions you'll undertake, the locations you'll visit, and the hostile forces you'll have to survive.

October's super-quick State of Play presentation showed off a few new games coming to Sony's PlayStation platforms, ending with a fresh new look at the upcoming open-world RPG Little Devil Inside. With the benefit of a narrator, the new trailer gave a bit of a sense of what the game will be like as you play Billy, attempting to complete jobs and stay alive in a strange, sometimes hostile world.

The new look at Little Devil Inside took a pretty broad approach, giving only a quick look at different aspects of the game to go with the tidbits we've seen about the game over the last year or so. In addition to seeing part of a mission where Billy heads to a spooky mansion to complete a job, we also got a quick look at survival elements like cooking and locales you'll visit for missions, including the desert and the open ocean.

Now Playing: Little Devil Inside | Playstation State of Play 2021

Check out the trailer below.

While survival is an aspect of Little Devil Inside, it sounds like it's not like a traditional survival game. The focus is on traveling to locations and surviving while you're there, completing your mission, rather than on staying alive as long as you can in a hostile environment. In addition to some locales, the trailers also gives a sense of how you'll get around the world map, which will include encounters of its own--in this case, a flock of sheep blocking the way.

You'll also run into various characters on your path in usual RPG fashion, some of whom will sell you things or help you out, while others seem to have a more sinister agenda. The trailer also gives a very quick look at combat, with Billy using his sword to take out enemies and stabbing through them to turn them into weapons he can use against the hordes.

Coupled with Little Devil Inside's cutesy art style, the entire trailer gives an uncanny sense of foreboding. Bright and lighthearted though it seems to be, the trailer shows that there's definitely an undercurrent of supernatural darkness in the game, and we'll have to wait and see just how it'll manifest itself. Unfortunately, the State of Play didn't provide an official release date for Little Devil Inside, but we know the game is coming to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
