PlayStation Plus Free Games of July 2015 for PS4, PS3, and Vita

PlayStation 4 owners get four free games this month, including Rocket League and Entwined.

Sony on Wednesday announced the free games PlayStation Plus members can download in July, which, like last month, includes a total of four titles for PlayStation 4 owners. The highlight, arguably, is the soccer-with-vehicles game Rocket League, which will support cross-platform play with the PC edition.

Meanwhile, a total of three PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games will be available for PlayStation Plus members on those platforms, including titles like Entwined, Geometry Wars 3, and Rain.

These games will be available for free on Tuesday, July 7, replacing the existing set of freebies for June. If you haven't already downloaded June's games, you have until then to do so.

B. Planetside 2 doesn't even fucking work I downloaded it 2 days ago and when trying to play all it would say was cannot contacted server. So a free game that's broken is pointless.

@Marky360: Create a new character and pick a server that isn't half full. I had the same issue because I picked the first server that it recommended me, which is always full. Just close the game entirely, reopen, then make a new character (don't click the old one or it will mess up) then pick one of the two bottom servers. Only thing that sucks is those servers are a little more barren throughout the day.

Yea but Xbox live is always on sale for around $36/year which is much less then PS+ which is almost never on sale. I got a year of live for $36 and it doesn't run out til Nov a time at which we KNOW live is gonna see a huge discount. Xbox live is on sale so often they mind as well lower the price permanently.

@rosinmonkekyx17: It's like GameFly changes their model. Pay 15 dollars a month, they send you two free games, return them whenever. At first the two games are awesome, so you like the service and buy more time. Then a year down the road all they are sending you are old Atari games, Pac-Man, Galaga, etc... games you couldn't care less about, and it's been that way for half a year or more.

What would you do? You'd cancel and say the service sucks. Same with music, say Spotify removed all their music and instead put on indie bands that maybe 10 people have heard of. Nobody would pay for Spotify anymore.

That's what is happening here. You can sit there and pretend it's awesome and be like "oh thank you, this service is so great" and let them keep rear ending you. Or you can be like "it sucks" and force them to improve it.

Personally if I could cut my PS Plus fee in half and drop the "free games" I'd gladly take that option.

@sargentpsgamer: sorry, but sony tosses the users, on three platforms, a diverse library rather than a stack of decade old broshooters... any person out there will have a month where they won't find a game they prefer, again, diverse library. What they offer is generally relevant in the timeline and sometimes brand new.

Well over $1500 a year in content for $50 bucks officially and as cheap as $14 bucks (without talking about its other features.) Have yet to see ps plus dry up on quality.. no bait and switch here. It pays for itself and then some in just the first month alone.

Also, rocketleague is really fun.. you should try more things, you might actually find something you like. At the least doing so would lend slight credence to any subjective statement you might make about it.

And ffs, why do you kids hate on "indie"?... indie is where it all starts, where it came from. Much of the most played and greatest rated pieces of work in history was, and still are indie... indie projects are good enough that in several industries the big names of their markets create and market their productions in a way that would make them seem as though they were indie..

You can get ps plus for cheap, also, it isn't mandated, don't like it don't buy it.

@Mirimon78: I have a diverse taste. A bunch of side scrollers that are nearly identical every month is not diverse. Finding the cheapest games to throw on the service is not a value. If I offered you moldy bread for 10 cents and said "but it's 500 dollar bread" is that value?

Also let's talk about the "other features." Online storage for PS4 is way too small and people ran out of room within a year with no improvements to it at all. Online play still has outages and same issues as always. But let's talk about one i really cared about, DISCOUNTS. I've been looking for PS Plus exclusive discounts for months and have yet to find interest in buying anything because the discounts suck.

I don't hate indies either, there are plenty indie titles that are great. Again, sides crolling adventures get old. If I wanted a sega, I wouldn't buy a PS4.... (And yes SOME side scrollers are good)

And honestly I still have two years left on my Plus because I got a bunch at once. If it keeps sucking, I'm not re-subbing.

Pretty great month. I don't know about anyone else but the older I get the more varied I want my gaming experience. Military Shooters and sports games can only carry a console so far.

As a tip, try not to equate dollar signs with enjoyment. Just because something retails for $60.00 doesn't mean you're guaranteed a great experience. You're cheating yourself out of some great experiences if that's how you build your library.

@srichard5_basic: nope.. so y does well to make sure our money isn't lost on the same titles repeatedly, unlike another service working hard to emulate ps plus...

but, the games that were free in the past generally have discounts on them for new users.

Another smart thing to do if you didn't want to pay for ps plus, trial codes are all over the place, grab one when a game you might like is up for that month and simply add it to your online li rary. Then, down the road when you can afford the $14 to $50 bucks a year that gives you over $1500 back in content annually, you will have those titles. Also, please note there are two tyles of games when you get ps plus... some you keep and can play regardless of account activity, the other requires an active plus account to access.
