No surprise that Eddie didn't put enough effort into this article to get the information right.

There were 10 games added.

All 10 are PS4 games.

There was another 6 games that had the PS3 version upgraded to PS4 versions.

There are no new PS3 games on PSN with this latest update.

Nearly the entire article is wrong.

@suicidesn0wman: I thought there was something off about the article, I was sure I had seen Beyond: Two Souls on PS Now before this.

Still not impressed with the PS Now service, but I wish it was still available for TV.

@nabinator:

1. download the app (if done skip to step 2)

2. open the app

3. search for the game

4. press launch

5. play the game

Welcome to 2018...

Now if only the games were downloadable, not streaming, and it was cheaper I’d buy in in a heartbeat....

They should make the PS4 backwards compatible on top of having this service. I really would love nothing more than to have 1 piece of Hardware to play all my games on instead of having to swap my PS4 and PS3 all the time.

@dragonsama: 4 years into the ps4 cycle and we are still seeing such uninformed comments such as this...

@Xristophoros: MS figured it out. I know why they can't, but still...it's been a few years. Clearly they just don't want to try.

@Barighm: oh, come on, dude. anyone with an ounce of knowledge on this subject knows that the 360 and ps3 architecture is completely different -- emulating 360 games on the x1 was a far simpler task than what it would take to emulate ps3 games on ps4. that goes without saying... if you don't want to accept the facts and reality of the situation, then there is no point in having this conversation.

even if sony could emulate ps3 on ps4, and that is a massive IF, they would rather encourage people to use their ps now service so it would be counter productive for them business-wise. at least a decent secondary option exists, even if it is not the most ideal. it is surely better than nothing. i personally have no problem keeping my ps3 out so it's not even a problem worth debating about in my opinion. would ps3 and ps4 backwards compatibility on ps5 be amazing? of course... ps4 backwards compatibility is a given, but with the extra power of the ps5, maybe emulating ps3 games will be more manageable for sony.. who knows.

@Xristophoros: That's not the facts and reality of the situation though, so your ounce of knowledge is lacking.

The reality is that Microsoft designed the Xbox One chipset with Xbox 360 backwards compatibility in mind. It's the combination of the hardware and software. Sony didn't plan for backwards compatibility for PS3 when designing PS4, so that's why they don't offer it beyond PS Now.

Eurogamer had the info on this: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-xbox-one-x-back-compat-how-does-it-actually-work

The funny thing is removing the online requirement for Xbox One leading up to launch delayed the backwards compatibility of 360 games, yet for PS4 you have to be online to play PS3 games on it (the same with 4K films on PS4 Pro).

@Xristophoros: No reason they can't do it for PS2 and PS1 games though. I think it's obvious Sony would rather sell us games we own for $15-20 than let us play them on the new machine.

@suicidesn0wman: yea, i can agree about that. the ps2 HD releases on ps4 are a rather nice visual upgrade, but to have to pay for them again is unfair to the consumer. not to mention, ps2 releases on ps4 have slowed to a crawl... does that imply that they aren't selling well and sony doesn't see them as a priority? the fact ps1 classics haven't been added to psn for ps4 is very surprising... but again, i have my ps3/vita for that so not a huge problem. at the least they could make your ps1 psn purchases transfer over to ps4 if they won't allow you to use physical ps1 discs...

@Xristophoros: Yep, basically how I feel about it. I already own about 80% or more of the PS2 -> PS4 games. And to be honest, I don't think any of us retro gamers care about upgraded graphics that much, we just want to play the game without having to break out the old PS2 and **** with swapping out wires and power cords.

@gamingdevil800: Or at the very least create a super Playstation with all of the chips installed in it so it can play every single game. Obviously it would cost quite a bit, but hey, it's not like they have to manufacture millions of these things.
