Comments

Sega announced today that it will cancel the release of Phantasy Star Online Limited Edition for the Dreamcast in Japan. The package included the Sonic Adventure 2 demo and a limited edition Phantasy Star Online Memory Card 4X. The company instead will release the game and the Memory Card 4X separately.

Phantasy Star Online, including the Sonic Adventure 2 demo (released only in the first shipment), is still scheduled to release on December 21 in Japan for 6800yen (about US$63). The limited edition Phantasy Star Online Memory Card 4X will be available only through Dreamcast Direct's web site for 4800yen (about US$44). Consumers can also purchase both items as a set for 9800yen (about US$91), although quantities will be very limited. Those who have preordered the limited edition will receive both products in separate packages.
