PewDiePie, No Man's Sky Dev Will Appear on Stephen Colbert's Late Night Show

CBS has announced the next lineup of guests for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and they include YouTube star PewDiePie and No Man's Sky developer Sean Murray.

PewDiePie will be interviewed by Colbert and do some kind of "demonstration" on Thursday, October 1. Meanwhile, Murray will follow him with his own interview and demonstration (it's gotta be No Man's Sky, right?) on Friday, October 2. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs at 11:35 PM.

This is far from the first time video games have showed up on late night TV.

Most recently, Jimmy Kimmel Live settled his silly beef with gamers. Meanwhile, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is probably the biggest supporter of games in the late night scene, as the show dedicates an entire week in the summer to video games.

@lithus: There's a difference between "making fun," which is his schtick, and being negatively critical of games and gamers, which Conan is not. Conan does a great job promoting many games as the "Clueless Gamer."

these late night hosts are painful and boring to watch. The only one that is half decent is Conan. The rest have a really fake and unlikeable personality.

"I dont like Pewdiepie". You are not supposed to like. I like Pewdiepie, I find him funny, because most of the time he actually still doesnt believe how popular he is, so he sounds genuine to me. I like genuine people. Is he my favourite? No, i dont have favourites. Just stop hating. He found a niche, started on it, became famous, now he is righ, good for him.

If No Man's Sky does well, that type of game will probably be the next video game genre. Even if it doesn't do well, people are probably gonna start developing these "procedurally generated universe" games. I'm sure other devs are already working on something similar, because the concept is just too fascinating.

It's fascinating to me, because if No Man's Sky is the GTA 3 of PGU games, what will The Witcher 3(see what I did there) level PGU game be like? And then think even further. There's no other way to say it. We're headed towards "simulated realities". It's where we come from. God is a developer, and Jesus is a video game protagonist. We're just AI.

Never mind the fact that Obama is killing small business with taxes, vetoing domestic oil contracts (Keystone) that would have lowered gas prices dramatically by now and basically destroying the country from the inside with a whole new costly healthcare system rather than fix the old one.

God. I wish PewDie-whatever would stick to his demographic and be on like Nicktoons or make a cameo on one of those annoying disney TV shows with all those kids that over act to canned laugh tracks. All of his sheep will be fast asleep by the time Colbert airs so I find it stupid to have him on being all awkward and not entertaining to anyone over the age of 12.

Sean Murray on the other hand - I could listen to him talk for days. The guy is ridiculously passionate about his game and the underlying tech he created from scratch. We need more of someone with actual skills, talent, vision, and passion. Not some dude that screams into a mic..there are sooo many of them on the internet already.

@Mon_Dieu_Mel: A talk show is supposed to be about honesty, you meet someone in a one-on-one warm exchange, but then Colbert is a character, so there is avowed dishonesty there, there is one person talking to a fake character. @xerotolerant: The Colbert Report is definitely satirical. The Daily Show, slightly, but not so much. They're both biased in favor of liberal democratic politics though.

If you want subjective news, I would recommend CNN.

@fedor: I watch CNN for its reporting on world affairs, so its mostly neutral from what I watch on it.

I've seen some of their campaign coverage though and it does seem a bit liberal. I'm not sure if its because they really are liberal or Donald Trump just says too much stupid stuff not to get ripped on by reporters, though.
