What goes around, comes around. Or so it seems today with the news that Peter Dille is joining Sony Computer Entertainment America as its senior vice president of marketing, reporting to SCEA EVP and co-COO Jack Tretton.

Dille was part of the original PlayStation launch team (as was Tretton), and that history was touted in the company's official statement announcing the hire.

Specifically, Dille will be responsible for "all facets of the company's marketing efforts in North America," according to the statement. Dille's portfolio will include directing overall PlayStation brand management, hardware and software marketing, advertising, creative services, public relations, promotions, and online and direct marketing. Dille will have about 100 reports.

Last August, Dille left THQ, purportedly to "pursue other opportunities." He had been THQ's senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

In related news, SCEA said it had also hired Philip Rosenberg as its new VP of business development.

"As we move toward supporting a three-platform strategy, it is critical for us to amass seasoned business leaders who can aid in managing category transition while aspiring to new levels of corporate, brand, and product innovation," Tretton said. "With these new additions to our management team, I am confident that our market leadership will continue."
