The Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker starring John Cena will kick off on January 13 on HBO Max with three episodes, followed by one new episode each week, according to director James Gunn.

Gunn shared information about the debut in response to a fan question on Twitter. Since the spinoff was first announced, Gunn has been vocal, enthused, and responsive to Twitter questions--which has made his feed a go-to source for information on his projects before other platforms or channels announce it more broadly. Recently, Gunn also said on Twitter, "Creating this show brought me a tremendous amount of joy."

Peacemaker comes to HBO Max on January 13, 2022. Peacemaker is written by James Gunn, who wrote and directed The Suicide Squad. He's staying busy, also recently confirming that his Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will feature a brand-new MCU character. A new Peacemaker trailer was released earlier this month.

However, Peacemaker is not the only big new show headed to the streaming platform next year. Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon is also on the way for 2022. The first House of the Dragon trailer is out now.
