Just over a month after release, Activision will soon offer a free play event for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on PS4 and Xbox One.

Starting later this week, a limited portion of the game will be playable. All three modes are present: the campaign's first two missions, multiplayer with a level cap of 15, and Zombies in Spaceland with a level cap of 3. This kicks off at 10 AM PST on December 15 and runs until the same time on December 20.

Now Playing: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Free Trial Event Announcement Trailer

PlayStation Plus is required for PS4 players looking to try out multiplayer or Zombies. Xbox One players, meanwhile, will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to check out the trial at all, including its campaign.

Progress will carry over from this version to the full game, should you choose to purchase it. If you pick up a digital copy, you won't need to re-download anything, as this is the full, roughly 60 GB version that you'll have to download to participate in the trial.

Infinite Warfare was expected to sell less than last year's Black Ops III, but the decline--at least in the US--appears to have been particularly dramatic. An NPD report for November suggests physical sales were down around 50 percent year-over-year.
