TOKYO--Sega/AM2 has taken an English version of its Outrun 2 Web site live. The site features the same sections available in the Japanese version, including the downloads section where a number of music samples and wallpapers are available.

In Outrun 2, the player can drive a variety of Ferraris, including an F40 and a Testarossa. There are four different modes in the game. The standard playing mode is the "Outrun mode", which plays similarly to the original game (where the racing track branches into different routes after the first stage).

There is also a new quest mode called the "heart attack mode," in which the player must complete tasks given by a female passenger, such as: drift through a number of corners, or: race past a number of cars. The game also has a time attack mode and a versus mode for simultaneous competition.

Outrun 2 is scheduled to begin operating in Japanese arcades later this month.
