Onimusha 3: Demon Siege, the third installment in the popular PlayStation 2-exclusive series, has shipped to stores. This morning Capcom announced the game's departure to retail outlets, where the M-rated game will sell for a suggested price of $49.99.

Billed as the "final chapter in the Nobunaga trilogy," Onimusha 3 sees players again donning the armor of supernatural samurai Samanosuke Akechi. Modeled on Japanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro, Samanosuke must again fight his way through an demon army in the hopes of finally defeating undead warlord Oda Nobunaga. However, this time around, the 16th-century warrior gets some modern-day help in the form of Jacques Blanc, a French commando modeled after The Professional himself, Jean Reno.

Featuring large levels drawn from medieval Japan and contemporary Paris, Demon Siege sports all-new 3D environments and numerous puzzles. Playing as either Jacques or Samanosuke, gamers can indulge in a refined version of previous Onimushas' hack-and-slash action. GameSpot's Greg Kasavin did just that and lived to tell the tale in his full review of the game.
