Update 1.2 also includes bug fixes across all platforms, and on PC, it allows players to alter in-game text and add localization mods. The update is free to download on all platforms, though Obsidian warns, "Optimized game resources which may result in a larger patch download size." Although the game didn't have many performance issues before, this latest update will hopefully make it run even more smoothly.

Pentiment is one of the best-reviewed games of 2022, currently holding an 86 Metascore for the Xbox Series X|S version. The game is available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, making it easily accessible to subscribers. This RPG was featured on GameSpot's five best Xbox exclusives of 2022 list, with praise given to its story and characters.

The game's developer Obsidian Entertainment is currently working on Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, while continuing to support survival game Grounded.
