Yoshiki Okamoto, long known as the father of Street Fighter II, has left Capcom to create Flagship, a company which will serve as a game developer for companies like Sega, Capcom, and Nintendo.

Okamoto's first project is reportedly a role-playing game - as far from fighting games as one could get.

Okamoto will serve as the game's writer, and Flagship plans to develop other games for the Saturn, PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and PCs.

With this news comes word that Street Fighter Alpha 3 will show its face sometime next month.
