Ubisoft today announced the launching of its official Might & Magic Web portal to promote its upcoming PC games Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Heroes of Might & Magic V. The company is promising up-to-date news and regular updates for the site, with exclusive screens, videos, interviews, and contests, as well as a thorough overview of the Might & Magic world, including its history, layout, and lore.

Ubisoft also released a little more information on Heroes of Might & Magic V today with information on the game's sinister Dungeon faction that's led by dark elves, a renegade splinter of the Sylvan faction. They broke off from the Sylvan faction long ago to ally with the Faceless and live in the subterranean world of Ashan. Their turn-ons include secrecy, plots, betrayal, and occultism. Ubisoft also confirmed that the Academy and Sylvan factions would be returning in Might & Magic V.

Under development by Arkane Studios, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic uses Valve's Source engine to put players in a first-person action game based on the fantasy universe, while Nival Interactive's Heroes of Might & Magic V revamps the long-running strategy series. The latter is scheduled for a February 2006 release, with the former trailing behind in the third quarter of the year.
