No Time To Die Set For A Huge Opening In The UK, Report Says

The new James Bond movie No Time To Die opens in UK cinemas on September 30, and the film is tracking for a very strong opening. According to The Hollywood Reporter, cinema chains are reporting a "nearly unprecedented level of demand" for the film. However, specific box office predictions are not yet available.

A cinema executive told the site that the closest comparison would be to Avengers: Endgame. "Endgame was the last one that probably had the same palpable sense of 'this absolutely cannot be missed' and there was a sense of urgency about seeing it as soon as possible," the person said.

No Time To Die is not expected to reach Endgame's levels, of course, due in part to the ongoing pandemic and the super-sized nature of the MCU in general. But No Time To Die is poised to be a big moment in the recovery for the moviegoing experience.

Screenings for No Time To Die could be as frequent as starting every 15 minutes in the UK, while the Cineworld O2 theater in London will have 50 showings each day, THR said.

Following its debut in the UK, No Time To Die will be released in the US on October 8--tickets are on sale now.

No Time To Die is Daniel Craig's fifth and final 007 movie, with a new actor coming in to play the British superspy when the series inevitably continues in the future. This next Bond movie will be the first under Amazon, which acquired MGM for $8.45 billion earlier this year.

In other news, Craig recently said he wants to see better parts for women and people of color instead of casting a woman as James Bond in the next movie. "There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?" he said.
