Nioh Beta Available to Download Now [UPDATE]

Play the beta and unlock DLC for Nioh's full release.

Update: The beta is also now available on the PlayStation Store in North America. You can download it here.

Original Story: The beta for Nioh, Team Ninja's Dark Souls and Onimusha-esque action game, is available now to download on the European PlayStation Store. It is likely to show up in other territories soon, as publisher Tecmo Koei previously said it would be available worldwide from August 23.

In addition to giving players a chance to try the game before its launch, playing the Nioh beta will unlock DLC for the full game. The Mark of the Conqueror content was awarded to those that completed the alpha demo released earlier this year. The beta provides a second chance to acquire the DLC for those that missed the alpha. The contents of The Mark of the Conqueror DLC haven't been revealed yet.

If you acquired the Mark of the Conqueror in the alpha, you'll get new weapons, money, and the option to skip to the beta's new Nakatsu stage. By finishing Nekatsu, you'll unlock another DLC, called "Marks of the Strong," for the full version of Nioh.

For the beta, Team Ninja has implemented changes based on fan feedback from the alpha. It previously announced it would revamp the stamina system and remove durability, among other things. There's also a Training Dojo stage that serves as a tutorial, new weapons, a Twilight mission, and other additions.

Nioh's beta will only be playable until September 6.
