Nintendo Switch Owner Creates Super Famicom-Themed Skin

If only Nintendo would actually sell something like it.

The Nintendo Switch has only been out for a couple of months, but already fans are customizing and changing its appearance. One of the most striking examples of this is a Switch comes from a user on the South Korean website Ruliweb, who made their console look like a Super Famicom.

User Clown TV created skins for his Switch that are designed to evoke the design of the Japanese version of the SNES, and the results are pretty amazing. The custom-ordered skins are incredibly detailed, down to including the Super Famicom logo on the back of the Switch. Clown TV even got the dock skinned. Check out some images of it below.

You can see more over at Clown TV's post here. This isn't the first time the user's tried something like this; they had previously worked on a Famicom custom design for the Wii U.

I'd hazard a guess that Nintendo is unlikely to officially release something like this in the near future. However, it has been known to create a multitude of color variants for its past consoles, including a NES-themed 3DS. Some fans have even conceptualized what themed variants of the Joy-Cons might look like.

In other Switch news, the console has been selling extremely well since its launch. In its first month, it sold over 2.7 million units. Nintendo now expects it to sell at relative parity with the Wii.
