2021 is set to be a busy year for Nicolas Cage. The much-loved actor has got a number of intriguing projects on the way, including playing Tiger King's incarcerated zoo keeper Joe Exotic in a new show based on the Netflix hit and appearing as himself as the strange-sounding movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. But before these arrive, we have the new Netflix series History of Swear Words, which releases in January. The first trailer is here.

The promo gives us a taste of what to expect from this must-watch show. A bearded, suited Cage stands in front of an easel, painting something we can't quite see, while enchanting classical music plays in the background. Cage speaks dramatically about "delicate femininity" and "the template of sensuality," before revealing the word in question. It's probably best you watch it yourself:

History of Swear Words consists of six episodes, and it hits Netflix on January 5. An expletive-filled synopsis for the show has also been released, which reads, "An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn't know you needed. History of Swear Words, hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science, and cultural impact of curse words. Through interviews with experts in etymology, pop culture, historians and entertainers, the six-episode series dives into the origins of 'F***', 'S***', 'B****', 'D***', and 'P****'"

In September, it was announced Cage's Tiger King show will be produced by CBS Television and will be released by Amazon. The show will focus on Joe Exotic's background and his fight to keep his big cat park. It's one of several Tiger King-inspired series in the works, another being a show starring Kate McKinnon as Joe Exotic's nemesis Carole Baskin.
