New Thor: Ragnarok Image Reveals Return of Key Villain

Loki Who's Talking.

Mark Ruffalo may have finished filming his scenes as Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, but another key character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has just joined the production. Actor Tom Hiddleston marked his return as Thor's villainous brother Loki by posting an image of himself in costume on Instagram.

Hiddleston hasn't appeared in a Marvel movie since 2013's Thor: The Dark World. He did shoot a cameo for last year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, but this was ultimately cut from the film.

The actor previously hinted that Ragnarok might be his final appearance as Loki. "I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate," he told Slashfilm earlier this year, before admitting that he wasn't sure if he would be recalled for Avengers: Infinity War. "I don't know! Honestly, I don't know. They haven't got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along."

Last month, images were released from the production that revealed the gladiator armor that Hulk will wear in the film. This has reinforced speculation that Thor: Ragnarok will take some inspiration from Planet Hulk, a comic book series in which Hulk battled monsters on an alien planet.

The movie stars Hemsworth as Thor, while the impressive cast also includes the likes of Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, and Jeff Goldblum. Blanchett is known to be playing another villainous character, while Goldblum will portray immortal games-playing Grandmaster.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
