New Site for EA's Fighter Pilot

Hunters have Deer Hunter, now value-minded flyers have Fighter Pilot.

Electronic Arts announced last week the flight sim equivalent of GT Interactive's Deer Hunter. Fighter Pilot is an inexpensive new flight simulation aimed at virtual pilots more interested in pure action rather than realism.

Fighter Pilot will feature four aircraft: the F-18, F-22, F-117, and the Su-35 in single-player missions, in head-to-head mode, or with eight players over a local area network (LAN) and the Internet.

Developed by Charybdis Enterprises, the firm that built iM1A2 Abrams and iPanzer 44 for Interactive Magic, Fighter Pilot is built to run on most computers, emphasizing fast action and "Hollywood explosions" rather than extensive high-end graphics, although support for 3Dfx cards will also be present.

The best part of it is, however, the fact that Fighter Pilot will sell for $20 and should be available in stores in October.
