Crystal Dynamics has released a new Woman vs. Wild trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider that shows off the upcoming Blood Ties DLC. The video starts off by setting the stage for the game overall, but you can skip to around 2:50 in the video above to see the Blood Ties portion.

In the Blood Ties story chapter, Lara's ownership of the Croft Manor is being contested by Lara's uncle. She must then explore the estate to find proof that she's the rightful owner or else she'll lose it forever. As the video explains, this story episode will include flashbacks that help the player better understand Lara and her motivations. She will also explore her father's library of knowledge where he kept secrets even from Lara.

Now Playing: Rise of the Tomb Raider - Woman vs Wild Episode 4: Croft Manor

The Blood Ties expansion isn't only about walking around the manor, however. In the Lara's Nightmare mode, the estate is overrun by zombies. There is a story explanation for this as well.

"There's a psychological aspect to this because Lara is battling her inner demons to retain ownership of her childhood home," brand director Rich Briggs says.

There will also be boss battles in Lara's Nightmare where she'll go up against otherwordly creatures. In all, Blood Ties will offer "over an hour" of content.

The next Woman vs. Wild video will show off Rise of the Tomb Raider's new PlayStation VR mode for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Rise of the Tomb Raider comes to PS4 through the 20 Year Celebration Edition, which includes the base game and DLC, as well as some extras. If you already own the game on Xbox One or PC, you can get the Blood Ties content and more for free.

Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration Edition comes out on October 11. Rise of the Tomb Raider initially launched in November 2015 for Xbox One and Xbox 360 before landing on PC in January 2016.
