The Pokemon Company has put Ash to pasture and revealed the upcoming Pokemon anime's official title--Pokemon Horizons: The Series.

An official short trailer accompanied the announcement, showing more info on the journey awaiting protagonists Liko and Roy. Liko will have some sort of connection to a mysterious pendant and a trusty Sprigatito by her side. A shiny Rayquaza, related to said mysterious pendant, also shows up in the trailer, along with a Captain Pikachu.

According to the official logline, Captain Pikachu is part of a group called the Rising Volt Tacklers. "Traveling across the Pokémon world on an airship, the Rising Volt Tacklers include Orla, who enjoys mechanical and electrical work and is accompanied by her partner Pokemon, Metagross; Murdock, who is skilled at cooking, and his partner Pokemon, Rockruff; Mollie, who specializes in healing treatments, and her partner Pokémon, Chansey; and Ludlow," said the show's description.

Liko and Roy will also stumble upon an organization known as The Explorers. Oh, and there will be a popular streamer called Nidothing in the show as well.

WIth the debut of Pokemon New Horizons, Ash Ketchum has officially retired from his 25-year-run as the face of the anime. His career ended in Pokemon Ultimate Journeys, with the last episode released in Japan on March 24.

Pokemon New Horizons will first air in Japan on April 14. There's no word yet as to when we can expect an international release.
