Since Ogre Battle 64's Japanese release, a few interesting details have been learned. Ogre fans will be happy to know that composers Masaharu Iwata and Hitoshi Sakimoto are listed in the staff credits. The two have worked together in creating the soundtracks for Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Iwata and Sakimoto's individual credits include the Saturn RPG Baroque and the acclaimed shooter Radiant Silvergun, respectively. It is also known that a number of the tracks from the prior Ogre games have been reused in Ogre Battle 64. The latest episode's connection to the rest of the series has also been revealed. As foreshadowed in the tough-to-attain "true" ending in the original Ogre Battle, characters Debonair, Aisha, Gilbert, Saradin, and the male hero return to the battlefield to aid Magnus in his fight. The beautiful witch Deneb, who has appeared in every Ogre Battle chapter to date, also returns to give players a tutorial and shows up within the game's story.

As a final bit of info, Person of Lordly Caliber (the game's subtitle) doesn't share its name with a song by British rock band Queen, breaking an Ogre Battle Saga tradition. (Note - Ogre Battle, March of the Black Queen, and Let Us Cling Together were all songs recorded by Queen)

Be sure to check out the existing Ogre Battle preview if you haven't already, and look for a full import review of the title in the near future.
