New Mythical Pokemon, Zeraora, Revealed For Ultra Sun And Moon

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon have been out for months now, but that hasn't stopped The Pokemon Company from revealing new monsters for the pair of games. The newest addition to the roster is the Mythical Pokemon Zeraora, an electric type that "creates a powerful magnetic field by emitting strong electric currents from the pads on its hands and feet."

The thunderclap Pokemon's official description goes on to say that Zeraora "doesn't have an organ within its body that can produce electricity." Instead, it can "gather and store electricity from outside sources, then use it as its own electric energy." It's seemingly a fast-mover, with a top speed "said to be about the same as that of a lightning strike."

No details have yet been revealed about how to obtain Zeraora, but previous Mythical Pokemon--such as Magearna and Marshadow--have only been available via special events. It's also not yet clear whether the electric type will be compatible with Pokemon Sun and Moon or if it will be reserved for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

For those who play the series' mobile offering, two new Legendary Pokemon are now available in Pokemon Go. Latios can currently be found in the Americas and Africa, while Latias is catchable in Europe and Asia. On May 8, the two will swap over and remain in their new positions until June 5. Developer Niantic is also hosting the fourth Pokemon Go Community Day this weekend. The event takes place on Sunday, April 15, and will feature the electric-type sheep Mareep.
