EA has released a new developer diary for Mirror's Edge Catalyst providing an in-depth look at the variety of gameplay features that make up the overall experience.

The video features a number of developers from DICE, developer of the reboot, discussing what was unique about the first Mirror's Edge and how Catalyst differentiates itself. The devs highlight traversing, free roaming, and dealing with different enemy archetypes with a new combo system.

Along with the gameplay, the video highlights other memorable aspects of the first Mirror's Edge, such as the music and audio effects, and DICE's devs discuss how these have been improved.

Originally set to launch on February 23, Catalyst was later delayed to May 24. Producer Sara Jansson explained the game was delayed to "make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it's as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be."

Catalyst's closed beta will be available before launch onPlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on PC. You can sign up for a chance to get into the closed beta through this website, although access is not guaranteed.

The first Mirror's Edge was released in 2008 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Like that game, Swedish studio DICE (Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront) is also working on the sequel.
