EA Sports showed NASCAR 2002 for the PlayStation 2 for the first time at E3 2001, and we have collected some screenshots from the game. EA's next NASCAR game will feature a wealth of visual enhancements, including improved car damage, heat shimmer, and depth of field. NASCAR 2002 will also include a career mode, the ability to create and design your own car, dynamic track environments, four-player multiplayer support, and team-driver cooperation.

All 23 speedways found on the NASCAR circuit will be in the game such as Daytona, Rockingham, and Vegas. Every last NASCAR driver, whether he's a rookie or a seasoned veteran, will be in the game as well. The list of announced drivers thus far consists of Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Bill Elliot, Michael Waltrip, and Steve Park. NASCAR 2002 will also include all the licensed cars from all four manufacturers. NASCAR 2002 is currently scheduled for release in the fall. We'll have more on the game when it becomes available.
