New media: Madden NFL 2003 GameCube

Today we received new screenshots and movies from EA's upcoming GameCube pigskin game, Madden NFL 2003. This year's Madden series may be somewhat different from previous editions thanks to the new commentator in the booth, Al Michaels, who joins John Madden in place of Pat Summerall. Madden NFL 2003 makes use of the same graphics engine as last year's game, but it features redesigned stadiums and new field textures. Changes have been made to the gameplay, balancing out the playbooks so that particularly skilled players can't dominate quite as much as they could in the past and opening up the running game with more pronounced holes in the line of scrimmage with more effective offensive line play.

Madden NFL 2003 for the GameCube is now scheduled for release August 13.
