New media: Gunvalkyrie Xbox

Initially in development for the Dreamcast, Gunvalkyrie for the Xbox lets players assume the role of an agent on a special forces team that must protect a groundbreaking new form of energy while rescuing the scientist responsible for it.

Gunvalkyrie is fast-paced, and the few levels that the press was allowed to play at last May's E3 required the player to blast from one end of the level to the other without any regard for puzzles or exploration. There are a wide variety of enemies included in the game, and there are enormous end-of-level bosses to battle. The lead character in the game is a female, and she has eight different types of weaponry at her disposal. Gunvalkyrie is currently scheduled for release in the spring of 2002.
