Free New Harry Potter Game Hogwarts Mystery Out Now On Mobile
Go to Hogwarts and do your thing.
Mobile game versions of everything from Pokemon to Fortnite to PUBG have proven to be massive successes, and developer Jam City is hoping Harry Potter can be the next franchise to successfully make that transition. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, a new free-to-play game, is out now on iOS and Android devices.
Hogwarts Mystery is set years before the events of the main novels. It takes place in the 1980s, shortly after Voldemort is temporarily vanquished but still years before Harry Potter himself heads to Hogwarts. Despite that, it does feature voicework by many of the actors from the movies, such as Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore), Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince), Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey), and Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch).
The game allows you to create your own wizard and attend Hogwarts, even joining one of the four houses. You'll go to classes and learn to cast spells and create potions, and generally do what you'd expect a Hogwarts student to do. It's a free download on both the iOS App Store and Google Play.

If this doesn't sound like your cup of magical tea, it's actually one of two Harry Potter mobile games that we know is on the way. Pokemon Go developer Niantic is at work on Wizards Unite, which involves exploring the real world to collect power-ups and defend key points. Publisher Warner Bros. has suggested a Harry Potter game is also in development for consoles, but no official details have been shared about that as of yet.
