When Disney+ launched, the streaming service revealed a new original show starring the Muppets was in the works. Not much information was revealed about the project at the time. Now, though, Disney+ has released some details, and images, for the project. Are you ready for Muppets Now?

The first season of the series will consist of six episodes and will debut on Disney+ on Friday, July 31. The synopsis for the new show reads, "In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. They are due now, and he'll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him."

In sounds as if, in typical Muppets style, the show will lean heavily into meta humor with a streaming series about making a streaming series. As for which Muppets to expect in the show, a series of tweets have revealed images from Muppets Now that include all the usual suspects, from Kermit the Frog to members of the Electric Mayhem band. Even Statler and Waldorf are getting in on the fun and will undoubtedly have something mean to say.

The new show won't just feature the Muppet characters, though. A press release for the series teases "surprising special guest stars" joining in on the fun for a return to "the kind of startling silliness and heartfelt fun that first made [the Muppets] famous."

In other Disney+ news, the service also announced when users will finally be able to watch The Simpsons in its proper aspect ratio and revealed a short film from the long-running series, The Longest Daycare, will be added on May 29.
