New Diablo III director speaks about the game's future
Josh Mosqueira's plans include making loot drops meaningful and reducing "the impact of the Auction House."
Diablo III director Josh Mosqueira wrote a post on the game's official site about the future plans for the action role-playing game.
He said that the development team will focus on making item and loot drops more meaningful and reducing "the impact of the Auction House." By doing this, he would keep the "core magic formula" of the series intact.
"Our goal is to make the loot experience more enjoyable for ALL players. This includes reducing the amount of loot that drops while improving the overall quality, introducing targeted Legendaries, and giving players ways to directly customize their character's armor--both visually and mechanically."
Mosqueira added that while he believed that the Auction House provided value, the feature should not be "the end-all-be-all force driving character progression." Head here to read the full post.
Mosqueira was originally brought to the team to work on the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. His attention was shifted to the franchise as a whole after former Diablo III game director Jay Wilson moved to another Blizzard project.
