Polish developer Techland has released details concerning the Golem IV, a giant walking vehicle that players will not only come up against in Chrome but will also command themselves.

Vehicles in Chrome will include bikes, buggies, trucks, motorboats, shuttles, and even spaceships, but piloting the giant Golem IV walker is sure to be a very different experience, as players will hear bushes and trees break beneath their feet. The Golem IV is armed with twin high-rate-of-fire caseless cannons and a hex rocket launcher, both of which can be fired accurately even when you're on the move, thanks to a gyroscope-based stabilization system. The vehicle is also equipped with numerous environmental biosensors that enable it to detect enemies that are employing cloaking devices or antithermal shields.

Chrome is a first-person action game set on a number of different planets, moons, and space stations in a fictional universe. No publisher or release date has been announced as of yet. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
