Activision has published a new trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and this one is all about the gadgets.

Glen Schofield, co-founder of Advanced Warfare's developer Sledgehammer Games, details all of the new technology that will be usable in the upcoming shooter. Firstly, Sledgehammer is adding a new "Threat-Detection" grenade to the player's arsenal. Basically, the grenade sends out a pulse that highlights in red enemies in the blast radius. Tagged enemies show up regardless of what structure they're hiding behind.

Next, Schofield describes a remotely-synced blast shield. This barricade pops up when you activate it and follows your movements. A front window automatically goes down when you pop up to shoot and rises again when you go back in cover.

There will also be a new class of weapons called "Directed Energy," which involve powerful and unbroken beams of light shooting out of gun barrels. He briefly mentions hoverbikes and hovertanks, as well, which are vehicles that can travel over land and water.

Most of the video is dedicated to the new exoskeletons in the game. Sledgehammer is calling the powersuit a "game changer." On a passive level, it allows you to throw things, rip things apart, run faster, and jump higher. Exoskeletons also have "Exo-abilities" which enhance select actions. The one Schofield mentions is Overdrive, which speeds your perception up so much that the world appears to slow down. The video also shows a person in an exoskeleton sticking spider-like to a wall and climbing it.

We thought Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare looked promising when we went hands-on with it at this year's E3 conference. The game launches on November 4 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

i wont enter in the usual debate what is best fps between COD or battlefield.

for me they both have pro and cons.

call of duty have better story (black ops 1 and 2 were great moments imo) and more smooth action sequence (ie driving or flying) but battlefield offer a military experience without comparition (imo).

why not cut the the game and price, allowing players to choose what they want to experiment?

i bought ghost and just loved the story, but almost never played the game multiples phases of multi finding them too clanky and not interesting.

i dont even speak about dlc, game additions like new maps or worse cosmetics dlc such as a wolf or santa's rifles.

why not to cut the game and the price in half?

if you just want to play the campaign, you buy the campaign part, i youre into multiplayer buy the multi mode and if you like both buy the complete version.

cutting the game in two should cut also in two, removing some frustrations often justified.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Watching Price smoking a stogie at the end of MW3 was satisfying. Black Ops 1 had a great story with great voice actors. BOPS 2 was ok but was jarring going back and forth between old and new. Ghosts had Riley I guess.

Maybe FPS games should branch out to more of a fantasy setting. Where are the Mage Wars? I want an FPS where fireballs , blizzards , boulders , firestorms , arcane energies and the like are everywhere. I am tired of guns.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Destiny is this generation's stepping stone between modern warfare and scifi / fantasy. More of the fantasy / sci fi games are incoming as people who grew up on COD and BF get older and want to explore new worlds.

<< LINK REMOVED >> As much as I also would love to see a WW2 cod again chances are slim :( the problem is Medal of Honor started all the WW2 FPS craze back in its day and most FPS shooters at that time followed line, nowadays the modern-future shooters are in so a WW2 cod would kinda feel out of place for many people.

Each will be used for 6 minutes in the main campaign and never seen again. That's one more minute than last time!

Innovation everybody!

This will be my first CoD for Xbox One. I hope to enjoy it immensely, even with all the PS4 warriors and CoD haters chanting something in their own little worlds.

Glen reminds me of Mel Gibson when he was a bit younger, except Glen looks more solid.

Really tired of playing modern/futuristic shooters. Between the last COD, titanfall and battlefield. Not to mention the new upcoming battlefield hardline, the division and rainbow six siege. It is a bit much, how about some older wars...

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Repeat but that is what COD is best known for lol. You made my point, stop repeating. This games looks just like....titanfall. In all seriousness they could at least try and not repeat as much in a row and break up the timelines. I understand they will need to repeat at some point. But at least they could repeat something that a lot of games have not seen recently. I mean they did them in the 90s and early 2000s lol? I didn't even start gaming until like 2008.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I just made a comment not long about this for another article. I think they don't like older settings anymore because they can't fit all the "coooool" gadgets and tech into them. Personally I am with you, partly because I dislike how the gadgets and tech take away from the actual point of having to aim and shoot guns at things :). I'd rather have a tight and precise focus on proper use of traditional weapons than a bunch of gadgets that kinda equate to special powers and abilities in games with magic and supernatural elements.
