Netflix's Umbrella Academy Season 2 Release Date Revealed

The off-beat and odd family of superheroes returns for this summer with Umbrella Academy Season 2.

Umbrella Academy fans, rejoice as the Hargreeves are coming back July 31 for Season 2 of their Netflix series. The entire cast is returning along with new additions Ritu Arya as Lila, Yusef Gatewood as Raymond, and Marin Ireland as Sissy.

Based on the best-selling comic book of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba, the Netflix adaptation made critical acclaim last year and the cast made their announcement over on Twitter as they danced to popstar Tiffany's '80s classic "I Think We're Alone Now."

When we left off in Season 1, Vanya destroyed the moon, and bits and chunks of it began to rain down upon the world, causing the Apocalypse. Having failed in their mission to prevent the end of the world, Five suggests that they use his abilities to all travel back in time to stop the Apocalypse together.

It's unconfirmed if the television series will follow along for the most part of the comic's canon, but we should get to the Dallas plot of the series where they find themselves up against an elite and secret group of assassins. In addition, we could see a lot more of Ben (The Horror), played by Justin H. Min, this time around.
