Fantasy TV has never been more more popular--from Game of Thrones and its upcoming spin-off to The Witcher and Amazon's Lord of the Rings series, audiences can't get enough of epic battles, monsters, and magic. The latest addition is Netflix's adaptation of Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller's illustrated novel Cursed, and the first full trailer has been released.

Cursed is a retelling of the Arthurian myth, focusing on Nimue, the young woman who is destined to become the Lady of the Lake. Nimue is played by 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford, and this trailer looks like a lavish and dramatic show with a strong female character at the center. Check it out below:

Joining Langford on the show are Devon Terrell as Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgard as Merlin, and as Matt Stokoe as Gawain. There's also a role for veteran Scottish actor Peter Mullan (Westworld, Ozark). Wheeler is the showrunner, and the series hits Netflix on July 17.

An official synopsis for Cursed has been released by Netflix, reading, "Based on the New York Times bestselling book, Cursed is a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a young woman with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a humble mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther."
