Producer Adi Shankar (Castlevania, Dredd) has revealed in a new interview that Season 1 scripts for the upcoming Devil May Cry: The Animated Series for Netflix are now "done," and there is already a plan in place for many multi-season story arcs. Speaking with IGN Japan, Shankar said the scripts are "rad" and that he "could not be more excited."

"The entire team [at Capcom] both from the management side and the creative side have been so incredibly supportive and gracious," said Shankar, who also added that collaborating with the video game giant has been "a dream."

The scripts were written in collaboration with Alex Larsen (Yasuke, Bodied), and Shankar further specified that Season 1 will span eight episodes but will not conclude with Dante walking off into the sunset. Instead, the season will kick off arcs that will play out over an unspecified number of seasons.

Shankar also confirmed that popular characters from the video games including Lady and Vergil will appear in Season 1. He also joked that he "can also confirm Chris Pratt won't be voicing any of the characters," a nod to that actor's recent casting in the titular roles of Super Mario and Garfield films.

Shankar is also producing the recently announced Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
