Netflix's Space Force, a comedy starring Steve Carell and from the mind of The Simpsons and The Office's Greg Daniels, is coming back for a second season.

The official Netflix Is A Joke Twitter account confirmed the news, following a story from The Hollywood Reporter.

THR said the comedy will try to save money in Season 2 in part by moving its production from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Norm Hiscock (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, King of the Hill) has joined as a co-showrunner with Daniels, the report said.

Filming is expected to begin in 2021, but there is no word yet on when Season 2 will premiere.

"The hope, per sources, is that a second season will allow Space Force the runway to grow creatively and better connect with viewers and critics alike much in the same way The Office broke out in its subsequent seasons," THR said.

THR described Space Force as "pricy," with Carell said to be earning $1 million per episode in Season 1. With The Office leaving Netflix at the start of 2021, subscribers will still be able to watch a workplace comedy starring Carell on Netflix with Space Force.

In addition to Carell, the series stars John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, and Tawny Newsome.
