The next PC version in EA's basketball series is hoping to reach a new level of gameplay with motion-capture technology and a new three-point shoot-out mode that is modeled after the NBA's popular All Star Break competition.

The game captures all 29 teams and a total of 350 players with such big names like Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers, Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz, Charles Barkley of the Houston Rockets, and Shawn Kemp of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game also captures these players' signature moves as they snake their way around the court.

To make sure that the game is as real as possible, even the cheerleaders get to take over once the halftime show begins.

NBA LIVE 98 will sell for US$49.95 and includes 3Dfx support, LAN, and modem gameplay.
