A new role-playing game is announced for the PlayStation 2.

Namco has announced a new role-playing game for the Japanese PlayStation 2. The game, titled Seven, is an RPG that will be released in the DVD format. The game's story follows the traditional good vs. evil plot, as the gods have recruited the help of seven heroes equipped with seven sacred weapons to take on a barrage of ill-tempered monsters. The player assumes the role of a lowly cavalryman, who will ultimately become one of the seven heroes fated to battle evil.

The game's graphics are fully hand-drawn in 2D and are shown from a three-quarter perspective. No release date has been announced for the game in Japan. Naturally, there is no word from Namco America on a US release at this time.
