Namco's long-awaited role-playing game Tales of Symphonia has shipped to North American stores, the company reported today. The GameCube-exclusive title carries a retail price of $49.99, is rated "T" for Teen, and was just reviewed by GameSpot's Bethany Massimilla.

Tales of Symphonia is the latest in Namco's series of Tales RPGs. The game features a real-time battle system, a storyline with minigames and side quests that span more than 80 hours of gameplay, and anime-style cel-shaded graphics designed by Japanese artist Kosuke Fujishima.

Tales of Symphonia saw a Japanese release in 2003. A PlayStation 2 version is planned for release in Japan later this year. Currently, Namco has not announced plans to release the PlayStation 2 version in the US.

To celebrate the North American release of the game, Namco is holding a Tales of Symphonia sweepstakes at the game's official Web site. Three winners will receive a GameCube autographed by Tales of Symphonia producer Makoto Yoshizumi and a copy of the game.
