American PSPs are getting a taste of what their Japanese counterparts already have, as Namco Hometek today announced that Namco Museum Battle Collection is coming to the US this summer. The collection brings more than 20 classic Namco games to the PSP, with 10 of them exclusive to the American edition.

"Millions of people around the world have played Namco's arcade classics, and now we're able to offer new versions of these timeless games to a whole new generation of gamers with Namco Museum Battle Collection," said Yoshi Niki, business unit director at Namco Hometek.

In addition to such games as Dig Dug, Pac-Man, Rally X, Galaga, and Galaxian, the compilation will include exclusive US content in the forms of Xevious, Mappy, Dragon Buster, Dig Dug 2, Bosconian, Tower of Druaga, and King & Balloon.

Some of the games can be played with the PSP held vertically, giving them arcadelike feels. There will also be new modes that take advantage of the PSP's features, such as wireless play.

Namco Museum Battle Collection is waiting pricing and rating information. GameSpot will have more on the compilation soon.
