After its open beta was temporarily halted last summer, MultiVersus--the platform fighter starring Bugs Bunny, Harley Quinn, and more familiar faces from Warner Bros. and DC Comics--is on its way back. WB and Player First Games have announced that the game will launch in full on May 28.

A new development update video was released by Player First today, hosted by the studio's game director and co-founder Tony Huyhn, which confirmed the release date. It also revealed concept art for new stages, enhanced visuals, improved performance thanks to a move to Unreal Engine 5, and mentions of "new personalities," new netcode, and a new PvE mode, though no specifics were confirmed.

MultiVersus was originally announced in November 2021, with the first open beta session beginning in July 2022. It became both the most successful WB game and the most successful fighting game on Steam, as it reached 10 million players in August 2022 and 20 million the following month.

The beta remained open for multiple seasons, with multiple new characters, stages, and customization options added via both free and paid updates, until June 2023 when Player First announced the beta would be shut down to "prepare for full launch in early 2024."

MultiVersus returns May 28 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
