3D and motion-sensing controls have been a primary emphasis by Sony for PlayStation 3 games of late. MotorStorm: Apocalypse hit the first of those points upon its launch for the PS3 in May, and this Friday, it will also accomplish the other. As part of tomorrow's sizable free update, Evolution Studios will introduce PlayStation Move support for its end-is-nigh racer.

Along with full Move compatibility, Evolution has added support for a handful of racing wheels, including the Logitech G25, G27, Driving Force GT, and Driving Force Pro peripherals. Sony noted that Move controllers and racing wheels will support customizable configuration options.

Beyond the new peripherals, Evolution will also introduce a new mode editor and vehicle customization tool. The mode editor allows gamers to create their own ways to play the game, which can then be shared with others for online or offline races.

As an example, Sony offered, "Tweak the standard Race mode so that vehicle attacks are disabled or set up a five-round Eliminator mode, on mirrored tracks, for 15 Monster Trucks and one Buggy, with moon gravity, infinite boost, and no brakes."

The vehicle customization tool allows gamers to create skins for their rides and then upload them to MotorStorm's official website. From there, others can view and download the skins for use with their own rides in the game.

Lastly, Evolution's update brings with it a handful of tweaks to MotorStorm: Apocalypse's online modes. These changes include new clan tags, an updated in-game gambling system, and invitation-only private rooms.
