Gathering of Developers has released more information about some of the weapons that will appear in its upcoming action game Serious Sam. The game, which is in development at Croatian studio Croteam, is nearly complete, and it is scheduled for release in early March. Players assume the role of Sam "Serious" Stone, a Special Forces veteran who travels through time to save the human race from annihilation at the hands of Notorious Mental, an evil being preparing to destroy the Earth. Through the course of the game, Stone will have access to a wide variety of weapons. The new weapons revealed today are the famous M1-A2 Thompson submachine gun, which fires 600 rounds per minute; the MKIII grenade launcher, which fires 40mm explosive rounds; the SBC cannon, which fires HP uranium-filled cannonballs; and the XL2 laser gun, a weapon that fires 600 rounds per minute and runs on X7 power cells.
