The United Kingdom's Royal Mint has revealed Star Wars-inspired coins are on the way. The first of them is available today and features the Millennium Falcon on a silver 50p coin.

The news initially came from the official Royal Mint X/Twitter account. The tweet reads:

"A new @StarWarsUKâ„¢ coin featuring one of the most iconic vehicles in the history of cinema has landed. The legendary Millennium Falcon is the first to appear on a UK 50p. Add to your collection here."

Thanks to a BBC report, we know this is the first of many this year. Later this year, people will be able to collect coins featuring a TIE Fighter, X-Wing, and the second Death Star.

The BBC also points out that this isn't the first time Star Wars has collaborated with The Royal Mint. Last year, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, The Royal Mint released another series of coins featuring R2-D2 and C-3PO inside the Millennium Falcon, as well as coins featuring other iconic characters such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and more.
