Unknown Worlds--the studio behind the open-world survival game Subnautica--is teaming up with Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson to create a brand-new IP: Moonbreaker. The turn-based sci-fi game is inspired by tabletop RPGs and features minifigures players can paint before sending off into battle. Moonbreaker is currently development for PC, with a Steam early access release scheduled for September 29, 2022.

In Moonbreaker, players will assemble a team featuring one captain and 10 additional units. They must then attempt to defeat the other team's captain and lead their troops to victory by strategically utilizing their ship assists, roster makeup, map knowledge, and more. Players can compete against other players online, or partake in offline challenges. In addition to these skirmishes, the game also features a Cargo Run mode. This mode offers a single-player experience filled with procedurally generated AI encounters, adding an almost rogue-lite element to the game.
