Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Season 2 And Spin-Offs Coming To Apple TV+

Thanks to the success of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, another cinematic sequel will probably follow. But the future of the MonsterVerse is already secure on Apple TV+. Via Deadline, Apple TV+ has renewed Monarch: Legacy of Monsters for a second season.

"Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has left an indelible imprint on the hearts, minds, and imaginations of audiences around the world, led by the brilliance of Chris, Matt, Kurt, Wyatt, and the incredibly gifted talented cast and creative team," said Apple TV+'s Morgan Wandell in a statement. "We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to not only have the chance to experience even more thrills in Season 2, but to embark on epic, new journeys in the franchise, as we expand Legendary's MonsterVerse.”

Additionally, the renewal of Monarch was accompanied by the announcement that Apple TV+ and Legendary are developing even more spin-offs in the MonsterVerse beyond that series. Further details about the new shows weren't revealed. But considering that both King Kong and Godzilla appeared in Monarch Season 1, there's a lot of room to include more of the classic monsters from Toho's Godzilla films.

Monarch co-creators Chris Black and Matt Fraction are both confirmed to remain as the showrunners for the second season of Legacy of Monsters. However, the announcement didn't reveal which Monarch cast members will return for Season 2.
