Modern Warfare 2 regains Call of Duty prefix

WTF??? Why is this news?

Cant wait for this to come out, but it will be a shame because a lot of COD4 users will stop playing it and move onto this. I will wait untill the price drops from £44.99.

So is this COD6??

Good i guess they realized some people wouldnt have known that was the sequel and wouldnt have bought it adding these 3 words will make lots more sells

YES lol i love tat they adding cod tag :) makes me have mostly all cod's except the first one i wanted it but thats when i had bad pc lol but i remember cod 2 was the first game i ever bought on 360 and after that i just loved cod games i have em all lol i still play 2 sometimes but its great still

i knew that would happen i predicted the same, i thought when it was just modern warfare 2 alot of people who dont really know much about games would think its not a cod game and not get it. now it has call of duty back in its name it will have its legendary call of duty name which evreyone has heard of. That was a smart move by activision

This game will be the best and i don't care what the name is although its awesome that they kept COD as the prefix. Once its out i will be the first one to buy it in my town. I am so excited!

That's great to hear! sure, I would have still gotten Modern Warfare 2 because that would just be stupid if I didn't, but I am glad it is called Call Of Duty once again as I have played them all ever since the very beginning of the PC =)

Great News, It was always CoD in my eyes and even if the prefix didnt change people would still remember and refer to it as CoD MW2. They did the right thing !

Bad Company is nowhere near as fun as CoD dude, sry. And I have both, BC was unique in its own right, but it was never as fun as CoD made online.

You could see that one coming from miles away! They were just teasing us with all the CoD-name-or-not BS. Probably just to show their dominance to Treyarch and their independence from the CoD-franchise (if nessessary)...

Never really liked COD, the multiplayer in COD 4 was nice, but it wasn't superb. Allmost every COD game is the same, storyline, gameplay, they should add some new refreshing elements, like destructible buildings, or futuristic weapons which fire lasers, or electric beams. The COD hype is overrated, there are a lot of other shooter games which are a lot better, killzone 2, battlefield bad company, gears of wars, ...

And when Bowling said "Sh** just got real", he was referring to MW2 finally coming to life. I mean really, your comment makes no sense, and you have nothing to support what you are saying.

@SniperFox Nowhere in that press response did Activision or Infinity Ward refer to Treyarch at all, not even that they suck. Dude, really, get your facts straight and stop being arrogant

Good thing they did It didnt bother me that it was titled modern warfare 2, but felt kind of off really with it back on that feelin's gone, so its all good now atleast now when i get it and put it with my collection, now ill have an even thicker stack of "Call of Duty" titles

For some reason Activision come across as very arrogant, I would also say the same about Infinity Ward. Whenever I see a press release from them they're always throwing around curse words or saying how Treyarch suck and it's only them who make real COD games. They are doing more harm to themselves by saying stuff like they are dropping PS3, than leaving out a few words on the cover of their game. I love Modern Warfare, but I think the people behind the game and the publisher are giant douches. They need to drop the lame attitude.

Haaaaaaaa, it's so stupid that people will NOT buy it just because it doesn't have the COD name, it is the same game but better, all new, improved immensely, and it will blow away the first but still have the same idea and be the great game/series that it is. Come on people how does one not have the brains to notice that?

The Infantry ward games have been a stroke of genius. They should have stuck to them. I'd be happy to wait two years for a new game instead of getting a treyarch crappy game in between
