MLB The Show 17: See How They Captured Ken Griffey Jr.'s Sweet Swing

Ken Griffey Jr. was known for his beautiful swing. Some say it was perfect. The retired MLB player is on the cover of MLB The Show 17, so of course his swing is factoring into the marketing for the professional baseball game.

Sony today released a behind-the-scenes video of Griffey Jr. in the studio, getting his swing scanned for the game. Yes, he's still got it. Check out the video above.

Not only does this video show how they captured Griffey Jr.'s swing, but we also see him recording some audio. In one sequence, he does an elongated strike call--but not as long or as animated as Leslie Nielsen's from The Naked Gun. That is probably for the best.

This new MLB The Show 17 video also shows the process recording the hilarious Boston Red Sox outfield victory dance. It's unclear from the video, but it looks like Sony brought in outside performers instead of Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr. to perform the dance.

MLB The Show 17 launches for PlayStation 4 on March 28, which is just a few days before the 2017 season begins on April 2. In other news, Sony recently talked about and showed off the game's cool-looking, slimmed-down Retro mode.
