Miyamoto says PS Vita needs games

PSVita is doomed.....

There isnt room in the market for another high end gadget for people to carry around with them these days. People have tablets, phones, e-readers, portable consoles, laptops, MP3 players ...

The Vita is a fantastic gadget, but there just isnt a big enough market for such a focused high end product.

i hate to say it but i think as long as they start development of a Call of Duty for Vita, thats when their sales will take off. the common fool is a CoD fan so as long as the marketed the hell out of it the vita would prolly survive. but really why cant i just get some good games. would really enjoy another Dissidia game. graphics would like great on the vita and maybe (FINALLY) they would add a decent matchmaking online play. just dreaming.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I would rather spend that extra money and get the home console anyway. I just recently bought my PS3, and spent just over $300 for the 320 gig plus Fallout 3 GoTY. Yeah sure some people may want that portability for games, but I only play games when I'm at home or at a friend's place so the portable systems aren't a big deal to me. Mr. Miyamoto's comments apply to me for both the Vita and 3DS, there's just not enough must-have games on either system to make me want one at this point.

there no way they can comptere with iphone cuz 3ds and psp vita suck and iphone is amazeing it has retena dipaley and it alraedy have milloins of apps and counting and ipohne is the futere so if the stuped sony or nitedno think they can copmete with iphone well there dreaming

Games alone won't solve it.. Drop the price 50 or 100 dollars..

So Sony/Nintendo wants me to carry around the vita/3ds, plus a cell phone & maybe my tab... Gees, how much device must i walk around with to get my fix.. If either system could make phone callls i would have bought one in a heart beat @ the 250 maybe 350 price..

I do not know why people here are saying "Oh, the irony..." or "Nintendo should talk" when they clearly admitted their own mistake in the article. I like how they maturely say that instead of just saying "Your system isn't doing good" without looking at themselves first. They gave an honest critique while admitting the same mistake that they were in. That's how you can help others out.

The PSVita needs a price cut and a lot more original games. It's that simple. Miyamoto is exactly right.

Impossible not to agree with him! I don't have 3DS or PS Vita but you have to consider the games lineup too. Vita started with a cheap lineup and is going the same way Nintendo did with nostalgia titles. I wouldn't buy a system to play 3 or 4 games considering prices and time to finish them but this is just my opinion. Haven't been a good Nintendo gamer lately, my Wii is getting dust and my indigo DS is in my backpack with its battery uncharged...

As videogame players we should have seen what could be for the VitaWhen there were few games only thats being broadcast for us. I kind a feel bad that there are people who are not informed about the situation and just wanted to get a handheld system thats doing poor with satisfaction.

I agree with Miyamoto Vita needs more games or a price cut which ever is first and the system will surely flourish it just up to the company to decide which goes first either way everyone wins

And he is 100% correct. If it ends up as bad as the PSP I won't buy one. I don't trust sony's handheld because it seemed as if sony put zero pressure to localize japanese psp games to the US. Even if there are good games down the line, I don't see sony doing what it can to get them to western customers. What is worse is that it's not even doing that well in Japan.

I totally agree here. but the same problem is also a bit for the 3DS too. lack of good games. the vita needs more good games to come out. ..so does the 3DS....we'll see in time.

Miyatmoto is right, the PSVita needs games. I for one own one and haven't played much of it for a while.

Then again, I got a Wii late last Nov/early Dec. and it's in need of games itself. The Mario Kart game I have is still in it's factory seal.

Ehh, I'm happy with Mortal Kombat, Unit 13, Resistance. MOre will come, I'm sure we will get a God of War game or two :) Maybe another Syphon Filter. The games will come.

They 3DS has games, but it is a first party stuff. I haven't seen a lot of third party games come out yet.

I have a 3DS and I don't think it had a very strong launch lineup of games. There was only one launch game I was interested in and it was Nintendogs. It took months for me to purchase another game for it and that ended up being Zelda which was a remake of a game I had already played. After that nothing until the holidays when Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 came out.

I don't have a Vita, but I do want one. It launched with at least 3 games that I would buy and there are a bunch more not released yet.

I think WiiU is the one that needs a stronger line up of games. Nintendo hasn't convinced me to buy one yet. All I see are 3rd party titles that I would rather get on 360 and PS3. They did announce New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Pikmin 3, but it's really not enough to justify getting a WiiU at launch especially since I'm not a huge fan of Pikmin or the NSMB games.

I think it's Nintendo that needs to bring the games, Sony seems to be doing fine with the game selection. I think the reason people aren't buying the Vita has more to do with the price than what games are available.

Nindnedo stop bulllying Sony ever since you reject a deal with creator of the playstation since creator was nice to you and you backstab playstation creator. If people dont know im talking about look youtube history of ninendo or playstation. Sony not saying nothing to you bully playtstation. PSP Vitra has more power than the ninendo 3DS . Nindendo always lucky with portbale and is sony mad no. So stop beigng nasty or something will hit you in future like sega did and what happen to them ya.
